Faith and community Response to the Cost Of Living Crisis

Join us for an engaging event as we delve into the urgent issue of the cost of living crisis and explore ways to support the individuals and communities most affected. As faith communities, we firmly believe in the inherent value of every life and the fundamental rights to food, clothing, and safe housing. While faith communities have been making significant efforts by providing warm meals, shelter, and various forms of support, it has become evident that more action is needed to address the challenges faced by people struggling with skyrocketing energy and food prices.

At this event, we are honoured to have esteemed speakers joining our panel, including Rt Rev Rev Sally Foster-Fulton, the current Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland. Sally Foster-Fulton succeeds the Rt Rev Dr Iain Greenshields and brings a wealth of experience and leadership to our discussion. She will take a year's sabbatical from her role as head of Christian Aid in Scotland to serve as the Kirk’s ambassador at home and abroad for the next 12 months.

In addition to Sally Foster-Fulton, we are privileged to have Dr. Nason Maani, a renowned Lecturer in Inequalities and Global Health Policy at the University of Edinburgh. Dr. Maani's research focuses on understanding the impact of structural and commercial factors on health and their influence on public understanding and policy-making.

Joining them is Dr. Gwenetta D. Curry, an accomplished Lecturer of Race, Ethnicity, and Health in the Usher Institute at the University of Edinburgh. Her research interests encompass Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities, Critical Race Theory, and Black Family Studies.

Together, let us explore actionable solutions, empower our communities, and make our voices heard by signing the 'Cost of Living Petition.' Join us as we strive to combat the cost of living crisis and create a brighter future for all.
