Temporary Tutoring Roles

The Edinburgh Interfaith Association (EIFA) is hiring for two temporary tutoring roles under its Leith Transformation through Education Programme, launching in September 2026. This after-school initiative provides 1:1 and small group academic support in core subjects like English, Maths, and Science to help disadvantaged secondary school pupils prepare for National 4, National 5, and Higher assessments. Fortnightly sessions will run provisionally between 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm. There will be an additional one hour preperation time provided for the 'School Subject Tutor.'

The School Subject Tutor role offers £50/hour for an 8-month self-employed contract (approx. 6 hours/month including contact and prep time). Applicants must hold an 'A' grade at SQA Higher or equivalent in their subject, an Honours degree, and prior experience working with young people.

The Peer Support Tutor role offers £20/hour for 25 sessions (October - July 2026) and is open to young people aged 16–21 with strong knowledge of the Scottish National Curriculum. Candidates proficient in Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Punjabi, or Urdu are strongly encouraged to apply by submitting a CV and cover letter to info@edinburghinterfaith.com.
