Holocaust Memorial Day

Each year, in commemoration of the Holocaust and subsequent genocides, the Edinburgh Interfaith Association (EIFA) endeavours to pay homage to the millions who perished and to honour the survivors.

For Holocaust Memorial Day 2026, the Edinburgh Interfaith Association was honoured to support an educational visit to Springburn Academy.

Our EIFA Ambassador, Joe Goldblatt, delivered an engaging and thoughtful session on Judaism, exploring its traditions, values, and the importance of remembering the Holocaust. He also highlighted why Holocaust Memorial Day remains so significant today, encouraging reflection, respect, and understanding among young people.

The session was a great success, with students actively participating and taking part in a candle-lighting moment of remembrance. This created a meaningful and memorable experience for everyone involved, reinforcing the importance of learning from the past and promoting a more inclusive and compassionate future.
