Pet Blessing Service
Each year, the Edinburgh Interfaith Association collaborates with Greyfriars Kirk to host an Interfaith Pet Blessing Service, celebrating the special bond between humans and animals.
Timed to coincide with World Animal Day and the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, this inclusive event welcomes people of all faiths and none to honour their animal companions. The service features:
Reflections and Blessings: Faith and belief representatives offer short reflections or blessings, acknowledging the significant role animals play in our lives.
Remembrance: A moment to remember pets long departed, as well as recognising working, farm, and service animals.
Community Gathering: An opportunity for the community to come together in appreciation of all creatures, great and small.
